This was the first painting done on a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. I was meeting a group at or near this location. At first I didn't feel really interested in the scene because the light seemed too direct. But then I noticed the variety of textures in the vegetation, the lines of the dead willow? trees in the meadow and the light on the distant mountain. These I tried to suggest.
